Before we go into the first step of creating your own website you need to consider why you should have your own website. There are several reasons why but the number #1 reason is to compete and market your products or services. Since the invention of the internet it has become more and more necessary to have a good online presence for your potential customers. Where do you go to learn about the companies you want to hire? Most people answer the internet! Now let's begin with step 1 to creating your own website.

Step 1: Register a Domain Name

Before you begin building your website, you should first think of a domain name. This is the address that customers will type into the search bar to access your website online. A domain name is the URL (address) of your website. Therefore, when anyone types in "yourdomain.com" or "www.yourdomain.com", they will see your website. You register your domain name through a domain name registrar or hosting provider. Once you have a name picked you will first search to see if your domain name is available and if so register it online.
